On Sept 6, the Ladies of Charity of Metropolitan Kansas City held its General Meeting at St.Elizabeth Church, Kansas City. Our Charity beneficiaries spoke briefly about their missions. Pictured are : Michelle Carlstedt, Villa St. Francis Director of Development; Shelli Lange, Seton Center Director Of Mission integration; Brad Grabs, Founder of The Learning Club; and Jennifer Wewers, Caritas Clinic’s Director of Development.
Grabs explained how The Learning Club helps at-risk children develop reading and math skills. Volunteers travel to one of four locations and work one-to-one with a student. The program offers children an incentive/reward feature that motivates them to stay focused and goal-oriented.
After Mass and the meeting, an Italian buffet dinner was served. Thank you to the presenters for the update on the Ladies of Charity beneficiaries!
